In an effort to push the boundaries of ventilation, we removed the air-blocking foam "bridges" from the center of the helmet, creating ventilation channels that increase the ventilation area by 24.5% compared to the S-Works Prevail II Vent helmet. The all-new S-Works Prevail 3 helmet has the largest ventilation area of any helmet we've ever made. The helmet's job on impact is to dissipate energy. The traditional approach to helmet construction is that more foam (EPS) means better energy management. We wanted to do more than just upgrade the foam. Woven aramid "cables" run through the helmet and are anchored to the carbon fiber side panels. On impact, the AirCage* technology acts as a suspension bridge and is designed to distribute the forces acting on a single spot throughout the helmet. The adjustable tulle base optimizes comfort by conforming to the shape of the head, so the helmet angle can be adjusted for goggle compatibility. The adjustable Tri-Fix strap system provides riders with greater comfort thanks to new, thinner 10mm straps that also minimise noise. The ultra-lightweight Mindset fit system is ANGi ready and has been upgraded for a better fit on the head. Our ultra-lightweight and ultra-comfortable MIPS Node Air technology is integrated directly into the helmet padding, and this low-friction layer is designed to dissipate rotational forces. Thanks to Specialized's in-house development work, we've added perforations to maximize breathability, performance, comfort and weight reduction. AirCage innovation increases airflow.
